2004 Out-of-Town/Edge-of-Town Shopping Centre Manager of the Year

Out-of-Town/Edge-of-Town Shopping Centre Manager of the Year

Peter Cook, centre manager of the White Rose shopping centre in Leeds, received the 2004 SCEPTRE Out-of-Town/Edge-of-Town Shopping Centre Manager of the Year Award from Ray Cliff, retail director of sponsor MacLellan.

The White Rose is a highly community-focused centre, and Cook has launched a number of initiatives that have increased its appeal to the wider community since he was appointed in 1999. They include the creation, in liaison with Education Leeds and training agencies, of the UK’s first shopping centre-based education and training resource.

Recent business innovations have included the introduction of White Rose TV and a rebranding and refurbishment of the food court, and over the previous year the centre received numerous awards, including five-star Loo of the Year recognition and a Green Apple Award for waste recycling.
